What would your roof do?
Type your KSEB bill. We read it the way KSEB wrote it — slab by slab — and show the size that fits, the price, and every step of the working. Planning an AC or an EV? Add it, and we'll size for the house you're about to have.
The final amount on your two-month bill.
Its own line on the bill. Can't find it? Leave it blank — we'll estimate from KSEB's table.
Printed as Import — the total for two months. If your bill shows Normal, Off-peak and Peak lines, add all three.
Planning an AC, an EV, or an induction hob?
OptionalAdd what's coming and we'll size for it. Already have them? Leave this empty — they're in your bill already.

What KSEB charges each month against units used. The jump at 250 is real — above it, every unit re-prices.
Every number above can be checked.
Where these numbers come from
We took 44 real KSEB bills from homes around Sulthan Bathery — our own, our customers', a few borrowed — and worked out the rates that reproduce exactly what KSEB charged on each. Seventeen of the twenty-three distinct bills match to the paisa; the rest are within 3.5%, all of them odd billing periods.
Then we checked the result against KSEB's own Tariff Revision Circular 2025–27. It lists exactly these slabs. So the calculator agrees with both the paper and the bills.
How KSEB actually charges you
Up to 250 units a month, each slab is priced on its own — your first 50 units cost less than your next 50.
- 0 – 50 units
- ₹3.35 / unit
- 51 – 100
- ₹4.25
- 101 – 150
- ₹5.35
- 151 – 200
- ₹7.20
- 201 – 250
- ₹8.50
Cross 250 and the whole bill changes shape: one flat rate applies to every unit you used — including the first fifty.
- 251 – 300 / month
- ₹6.75 on all

- 351 – 400

- 401 – 500

- Above 500
- ₹9.20
250 units a month costs ₹1,432.50. 251 costs ₹1,694.25. One unit, ₹261.75 a month — and there's no protection clause. We checked against a real 525-unit bill before writing that down.
The other lines on your bill
- Energy charge
- Solar removes this
- Fixed charge
- Stays
- Electricity duty · 10%
- Falls with the energy charge
- Meter rent · ₹6 / month
- Stays
- Fuel surcharge
- Falls with consumption
So your bill won't become zero. It becomes the fixed charge, the meter rent, and whatever you draw at night before your daytime credit covers it. Anyone who says otherwise hasn't read a bill properly.
How we worked out your units from the amount
We take out the fixed charge and the meter rent, remove the 10% duty, and search for the unit count whose energy charge matches what's left. If your bill shows the units directly, use that box instead — it's exact, and skips all of this.
How we estimate an AC, an EV or induction
AC: about 1 unit an hour for a 1.5-ton inverter AC, averaged over a running hour. Five hours a day is roughly 150 units a month.
EV, quick: about 1 unit per 7 km. EV, exact: the company's claimed range minus 20%, battery capacity divided by that for units per km, then 10% more for charging losses — the EV calculator shows every step.
Induction: about 50 units a month for a household's cooking.
They're starting points, not promises. Change the hours and the kilometres to match your life.
Where this could be off
KSEB revises tariffs; ours are current to the 2025–27 circular. If your billing period wasn't a standard two months, your bill will differ a little, and the fuel surcharge moves month to month. Your own bill is always the final word. If our number is far from yours, tell us — we'd like to know.
